Details

The top layer of your Wool Bliss Ultimate Fleece Underlay is made out of a combination of Merino and Downs wool. The Downs wool gives the product its rebound strength while the Merino wool provides it with its soft luxurious feel. Combined this with the Wool Wadding core and Cotton backing provides you with a product that has a superior level of comfort and therapeutic support over other underlays on the market.

Construction

  • Fleece Top: A combination of Merino and Downs Wool
  • Filling: 300gsm Wool Wadding
  • Backing: 100% cotton Japara Fabric
  • Total Wool Used: 600 gsm per sq metre

Application

This is an all year round product with two methods of application.

Cool Month Application - In the cooler autumn and winter months you use the underlay like any other. You place it on your bed with the woollen side facing up.

Warm Month Application - When the temperature rises in spring and summer you turn the underlay over so the cotton backing side facing up.

No matter which way you use your Wool Bliss Ultimate Fleece underlay, there is no reduction in the therapeutic benefits gained from using this product.

Wool Benefits

Wool has unique temperature and moisture management properties that help to improve sleep quality.

Studies suggest that sleep quality improves when sleeping on or under wool. This appears to be related to wool's unique temperature and moisture management properties, and texture. Across the years studies have also indicated the incidence of allergies to wool is rare. The use fleece wool underlay can also help significantly reduce postural activity (sleep is more “settled"). Sufferers of fibromyalgia (diffuse chronic pain and presence of tender points) can benefit with from wool with much less pain, and significantly improved sleep quality when using a wool underlay.

Care Instructions

Your Wool Bliss Ultimate Fleece is dry clean only. For the best results in caring for your Wool Bliss underlay we strongly recommend that you have it DRY CLEANED once a year by a reputable dry-cleaning company. We at Wool Bliss recommend NZ Drycleaners Ltd as our preferred cleaner for our product.

If it does get wet we recommend that you sponge off excess moisture and allow it to dry in the shade.

This has been our premium product for 35 years, and until we developed the elite Golden Fleece, the Ultimate Wool was the best you could buy on the market. Approximately 600gsm of wool per square meter is used to make a Ultimate Wool underlay. Woolbliss is the originator of the woollen underlay. We have spent four decades trialling the various types of wool, and developing a special blend that gives maximum support and comfort, with durability and performance.

Our wool blend is our own creation and not available anywhere else on the NZ market. It is a blend of Merino and Downs breeds, specially selected for their comfort, strength and performance. Merino wool alone does not have the durability and strength of the downs wool.
The superb quality and resulting popularity of this underlay has made Wool Bliss a household name.

I brought a quality 'Ultimate Wool' Pure Wool Underlay, and it feels comfortable, clean and luxurious, and has a warm feel after a short time. Does away with needing an electric blanket and best still it is made in New Zealand ! Review by Megan / (Posted on 21/08/2018)
