The Wool Experience

There’s so much to Wool that makes it a perfect option for the bedroom or
where ever you please, it’s our mission to help you get the best sleep possible.

Natural Insulator

Its organic structure enables it to act like a thermostat, helping to keep you from overheating, and yet also keeping you toasty warm in winter. It keeps your body at a steadier temperature during the night – avoiding that annoying situation where you wake up in the night boiling hot, or freezing cold.

Absorbs moisture

And if you’re worried about the idea of sleeping on wool during hot weather, consider this: wool can absorb more than 30% of its own weight in moisture. The fibres wick the moisture away into the atmosphere, so you can see it’s important to air your bed out in the morning.

This absorbing quality of wool means it reduces the sweat around your body.

Healthy

Woollen bedding also minimizes humidity, which creates a healthier sleeping environment, and minimizes the presence of bed mites. Mites thrive in a damp environment, such as you can find when a bed does not have woollen bedding - the moisture sits on the fibres, creating the warm, damp conditions ideal for mites and allergens.

Superbly comfortable

Wool also helps your body recuperate while you sleep. It relaxes your muscles, your back, your aching joints on a natural cushion. In fact the quality of wool in your Wool Bliss underlay creates a sort of mini-environment around you.

Woollen bedding has also been shown to increase the amount of sub-REM sleep you get. That’s the deeper sleep stage, which is important for tissue relaxation and rest. According to a study by the Polytechnic of Wales, it also slows your heart rate down.

The best sleep

All this adds up to a good quality sleep, every night. Not only is our wool grown in New Zealand and Australia - but just as importantly, it is processed here as well.

Wool is strong, resilient and highly durable. A Wool Bliss underlay properly cared for will last you for many years – we have customers who bought their first Wool Bliss 30 years ago and who are still using it.
